Our initiative for the littlest eco-warriors is here!
Here at Yallamundi Farm, family and sustainability are at the very heart of what we do. Our own family has tended this land for three generations, and our commitment to leaving it better than we found it informs every decision we make. That’s why we’re so excited to be launching Little Green Heroes – a brand-new creative play initiative that we hope will contribute to raising the next generation of sustainability superstars.
If you’re a parent or carer of little ones 12 and under who love to get crafty, Little Green Heroes is for you. Around every 6 weeks we’ll be sharing easy craft activities that will help educate children on sustainability topics including composting, food waste, recycling, biodiversity, native animals and plants – all whilst having lots of fun, of course!
Using only what’s easily on hand in your home, kids will learn how to reuse and recycle discarded household objects and food scraps in an imaginative and colourful way, which we hope will inspire a life-long commitment to sustainable living. We’ll be regularly uploading simple-to-follow videos, reels and step-by-step instructions to our website and social media, so you can easily join in with us from home.
Here at Yallamundi Farm our community is so important to us, and we’d love to hear from you and your Little Green Heroes if you try our ideas – or if you’ve got some sustainable craft projects of your own to share. Keep your eyes open for the very first installment of Little Green Heroes, which is coming soon – we can’t wait to get cracking! (We can never resist an egg pun).
