Beyond the pastures where our hens roam, you’ll find a bustling biodiversity corridor — a living, breathing ecosystem that’s home to countless native species of flora and fauna. From wallabies and echidnas to a variety of feathered friends, the corridor shows us what’s possible when nature and regenerative farming move as one.
A living landscape
A significant portion of the farm (40%!) is dedicated to our biodiversity corridor, which is home to native birds, wallabies and other wildlife. This space plays a vital role in the health of the whole farm, with native trees, grasses and shrubs forming a habitat where wildlife can forage, shelter and nest safely. It’s a space that supports natural ecological balance where insects pollinate plants, birds disperse seeds and native species help maintain healthy soil.
Balance beyond the paddocks
While our hens enjoy open pastures designed for comfort, activity and wellbeing, the biodiversity corridor ensures there’s still plenty of land left undisturbed. This balance allows the farm to support both agriculture and natural ecosystems side by side. The result is a landscape that feels alive, where each part contributes to the health of the whole.
In harmony with native wildlife
Each day brings new life to the corridor, with native birds darting through the trees, wallabies grazing in the distance and the gentle hum of insects filling the air. These sights and sounds are part of what makes Yallamundi Farm special and a reminder of the beauty that comes with the responsibility of caring for the land.
Farming with respect for nature
By preserving large sections of land for biodiversity, we help create an environment that’s resilient and self-sustaining. Healthy ecosystems naturally support cleaner water, stronger soils and greater stability across the farm. For us, biodiversity isn’t just a feature of our farm — it’s part of the foundation of how we farm thoughtfully and with gratitude for what the land gives us in return.
