Easter Bunnies
As the Easter holidays fast approaches, this colourful kids DIY is perfect for making keepsake Easter-egg holders for the big hunt – all whilst teaching your little one a no-waste sustainable craft lesson.
The Little Green Lesson: Sustainability, no-waste
Materials
- An empty 6-pack of Yallamundi Farm Organic eggs
- Paints
- A piece of cardboard and a pencil
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Fine marker
- Coloured paper
Method

Peel the labels off an empty 6-pack of Yallamundi Farm Organic eggs. Paint the outside and inside of the carton in your favourite colours, adding some lighter or darker splotches for texture if you like. Allow the paint to dry.

On a spare piece of card, draw two ear shapes, two eye shapes and a small bunny nose shape. Cut out all the shapes and paint the ears to match the bunny body, draw pupils on the eyes and colour in the nose pink.

Use a glue stick to glue the eyes over the holes in the front of the carton, and the nose in the centre of the face. Use a fine marker to draw on a little mouth and freckles or whiskers.

Get an adult to carefully cut two lines in the lid of the carton to insert the ears into. Use a piece of pretty coloured paper and write ‘Happy Easter’ on it. Cut it out and glue inside the lid of the carton, which will help cover up the ends of the ears and make them more secure.
